How it works

Total Fare = Fare per Trip × Number of Trips. We use the current RTA fare table to find the cost per trip based on the number of zones and ticket type, then multiply by the number of trips.

If using a Nol card, the one-time card cost is added to your total.

Inputs explained

  • Number of Zones: The zones traveled on your journey (1-7)
  • Ticket Type: Standard (Silver Nol), Red (Gold Nol), or Blue (discount)
  • Number of Trips: Total trips you plan to take
  • Payment Method: Nol Card (reusable) or Single Ticket (one-time)

Example

Daily Commute:

  • Zones: 3
  • Ticket Type: Red (Gold Nol)
  • Trips: 2 per day
  • Payment: Nol Card

Calculation:

  • Fare per trip (3+ zones, Red) = 15 AED
  • Daily fare = 15 × 2 = 30 AED
  • Nol card cost (Gold) = 65 AED (one-time)
  • Total cost for 2 trips = 95 AED

Tips & notes

  • A Nol card is more cost-effective for frequent travelers
  • Red (Gold Nol) tickets offer premium services and unlimited travel within zones
  • Blue tickets offer a 50% discount for women, children, and students
  • Fares are subject to change; verify with the RTA
  • Daily and weekly caps may apply to Nol card usage
