SGPA Calculator VTU
Calculate your VTU SGPA (semester GPA) in seconds. Add your subjects, credits, and grades to get your weighted average using the VTU scale. Explore more tools on free calculators on CalculatorBolt.
- Total Credits: 0
- Weighted Points: 0
- Scale Used: S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4, F/Ab=0
How it works
Your SGPA is the weighted average of your grade points. We multiply each course’s credits by its VTU grade point and divide by total credits.
Formula: SGPA = Σ(credits × grade_points) / Σ(credits). Rounds to 2 decimals.
Default VTU scale: S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4, F/Ab=0. You can edit the scale in Advanced.
Inputs explained
- Course Name: optional (useful for export/share)
- Credits: typically 1–5 (labs 1–2)
- Grade: choose S/A/B/C/D/E/F (or your custom scale)
- Options: treat E as pass (4 points); exclude F/Ab from denominator (check your scheme)
- Advanced: change scale, import/export CSV, share link, reset defaults
Example
Example courses:
- Engineering Math (4 cr, A=9)
- Programming (4 cr, B=8)
- Lab (1 cr, S=10)
- Mechanics (3 cr, C=7)
- Elective (3 cr, D=6)
Σ credits = 15; Σ(c×p) = (4×9) + (4×8) + (1×10) + (3×7) + (3×6) = 36 + 32 + 10 + 21 + 18 = 117
SGPA = 117 / 15 = 7.80
Tips & notes
- Confirm your department’s latest rules (CBCS/revised), especially pass criteria and repeats.
- If you repeat a course, some schemes replace the older grade; others show both. Check your regulations.
- Use Export/Share to keep records and compare what‑if scenarios.
