How it works

Net Pay = Gross Salary + Allowances - Deductions. We calculate standard UAE social security (GOSI) and housing deductions and subtract them from your gross pay to find your net salary.

Standard UAE deductions include GOSI (5% of gross), housing fee (5% of gross for Abu Dhabi), and ILOE unemployment insurance (1% of gross).

Inputs explained

  • Gross Monthly Salary: Your base salary before any allowances or deductions.
  • Housing Allowance: Monthly housing allowance provided by your employer (common in UAE).
  • Transport Allowance: Monthly transportation allowance.
  • Other Allowances: Any additional allowances (education, phone, etc.).

Example

Gross Salary: 15,000 AED

Housing Allowance: 3,000 AED

Transport Allowance: 500 AED

Calculation:

  • GOSI (5%): 15,000 × 0.05 = 750 AED
  • Housing Fee (5%): 15,000 × 0.05 = 750 AED
  • ILOE (1%): 15,000 × 0.01 = 150 AED
  • Total Deductions: 1,650 AED
  • Net Pay: 15,000 + 3,000 + 500 - 1,650 = 16,850 AED

Tips & notes

  • Housing allowances are often tax-free in the UAE, as there is no personal income tax.
  • Social security (GOSI) is mandatory for most private sector employees in the UAE.
  • Deduction rates and caps can change; verify with official UAE government sources.
  • The UAE does not have personal income tax, but employees pay social security and other mandatory fees.
  • End of service benefits (gratuity) are separate and not included in this calculator.
