Total Area = Length × Width (for rectangular patios). Number of Pavers = (Area × (1 + Waste%)) / Paver Area. We calculate the total area, add a waste factor, and then determine how many pavers you need to buy.
For circular patios, we use Area = π × (Diameter / 2)². The sand base volume is calculated by multiplying the patio area by the sand depth.
Patio: 6m × 4m = 24 m². Pavers: 20cm × 10cm (0.02 m² per paver), Waste = 10%.
Total Area with Waste = 24 × 1.1 = 26.4 m²
Pavers Needed = 26.4 / 0.02 = 1,320 pavers
If each paver costs $2.50, Paver Cost = 1,320 × $2.50 = $3,300
Sand Base (10cm depth) = 24 m² × 0.1m = 2.4 m³ at $30/m³ = $72
Total Cost = $3,372
Informational estimate based on standard calculations. Actual material needs may vary based on patio shape, cutting waste, pattern, and base preparation. Consult a contractor for accurate measurements and quotes.
