How It Works

Canada's NOC 2021 uses TEER levels to group jobs by Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities.

We match your NOC code or job title to a TEER level using a local reference list. Because job titles are diverse, use fuzzy search and review similar titles. Always verify with the Government of Canada's official NOC resources.

Inputs Explained

  • NOC Code: 5-digit code, e.g., 21211 (Data scientists).
  • Job Title: Type at least 2 letters; pick from the matches.
  • Dataset: This page ships with a reference set; admins can add more entries in /assets/data/noc-teer.json.

Example

  • NOC 21211 "Data scientists" → 1 (typically bachelor's degree or higher).
  • Search "programmer" → "Computer programmers and interactive media developers (21230)" → 1.
  • Search "cook" → "Cooks (63200)" → 3.

Tips & Notes

  • Try alternate titles/synonyms (e.g., "developer," "programmer," "software engineer").
  • Use the 5-digit code if you have it—it's the most precise.
  • TEER describes typical requirements; individual jobs may differ.
  • For immigration or licensing, always rely on official sites and guidance.
