How it works

Prelims: We compute GS and CSAT nets with your marking scheme; CSAT is qualifying by default (33%). Mains: Sum marks from seven merit papers (default total 1750). Final: Add Interview (default 275) to get a grand total (default 2025). All numbers are editable to match your year's notification.

Inputs explained

  • Prelims: Enter correct/wrong for GS and CSAT; set marks per correct and negative penalty (fractional or absolute).
  • Mains: Enter scores for Essay, GS1–GS4, Optional I/II; toggle Paper A/B qualifies only.
  • Final: Add your Interview marks; see the combined total.
  • Cut‑off: Load or enter category cut‑offs to check Above/Below (not official).

Example

Prelims demo:

  • GS: Q=100, M=2, r=1/3 → C=55, W=22 → Raw=110, Deduction=22×0.6667=14.67 → Net≈95.33/200
  • CSAT: Q=80, M=2.5, r=1/3 → C=30, W=20 → Raw=75, Deduction≈16.67 → Net≈58.33/200 → below 66.0 → CSAT Not qualified

Mains totals (illustrative):

  • Essay 120, GS1 102, GS2 86, GS3 98, GS4 105, Optional I 118, Optional II 121 → Mains_total=750 (example only)

Final: Interview 165 → Final_total=915/2025

Tips & notes

  • CSAT and Paper A/B are qualifying in many years; adjust thresholds per notification.
  • Negative marking and paper maxima may vary—always verify.
  • Normalization/equating, if practiced, is complex and exam‑specific; this tool does not implement official normalization—any helper is educational only.
