Percentage to CGPA Calculator

How It Works

Institutions use different rules to map percentage to CGPA. This tool supports common presets and a custom linear formula (cgpa₁₀ = a×% + b). If your CGPA uses a scale other than 10, we normalize to a 10-point scale first, apply the mapping, then convert back to your scale.

Presets Explained

• ÷9.5: CGPA(10) = % / 9.5
• ÷10: CGPA(10) = % / 10
• Offset: CGPA(10) = (% / 10) + 0.5
• Custom: CGPA(10) = a×% + b (you define a and b)

Inputs Explained

• Percentage: Enter your percentage (0–100)
• Scale: Choose your CGPA scale (10/4/5/7/custom)
• Formula Preset: Pick ÷9.5, ÷10, Offset, or Custom (a, b)
• Decimals: Choose output precision (0–2)
• Reverse tab: Convert CGPA→Percentage using the inverse of your selected mapping

Examples

Example 1 (Percentage→CGPA)

Percentage 84.5%, preset ÷9.5, scale 10

CGPA(10) = 84.5 / 9.5 ≈ 8.89

On a 4-point scale: cgpa = 8.89 × (4/10) ≈ 3.56

Example 2 (Offset mapping)

Percentage 73%, offset rule (%/10 + 0.5)

cgpa₁₀ = 7.3 + 0.5 = 7.8

On 7-point scale: 7.8 × (7/10) = 5.46
