How the ATMAKA Tariff System Works

The UCAS tariff system translates your A-Level grades into numerical points. An A* is worth 56 points, an A is 48, and so on. This calculator sums the points from your chosen subjects and matches them to a predicted ATMAKA grade. AS/A2 levels are calculated separately and added to your total.

How to Use This Calculator

Select the number of A-Levels you are taking. For each subject, choose the subject and the grade you achieved (or expect to achieve). The calculator will automatically sum your points and determine your predicted grade based on official boundaries.

Example

A student with the following A-Level results:

  • Mathematics: A* (56 points)
  • Physics: B (40 points)
  • Chemistry: B (40 points)
  • Total Points: 136
  • Predicted ATMAKA Grade: A (144-167 points)
  • The calculator will show that the student is 8 points away from the A grade boundary.

Tips for Maximising Your UCAS Points

  • Choose High-Point Subjects: Subjects like Mathematics and Sciences often award more points at higher grades.
  • Aim for the Highest Grade Possible: Even a small improvement can make a difference in your total points and final grade.
  • Understand AS/A2 Levels: These are equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree and can significantly boost your points total.
  • Check University Requirements: Some courses have specific grade requirements. Use this calculator to see if you meet the criteria.
